AUR01 - Ulysses
Hello, everyone! Before I begin, I'd just like to say not to get too [...] excited. This is a new phenomenon under investigation, so temper your expectations accordingly!
Everyone's expectations tempered? Good!
The Verne Point Observatory has spied another landmass to the West, and while we're not accustomed to tracking the movement of this sort of body, it might be [...] approaching us. And if our estimates are correct, it should be at us in a couple weeks.
Now, nobody panic, please! We may not know what will happen when it arrives, but we're all busy working out a plan and will keep an eye on this whole situation as it approaches. For all we know, this could just be the world's own attempt to repair itself!
As for the approaching patch of land in question, all I can say is that it's very [...] green. And large. We're trying to get a closer look at it, but the angle's a little tricky. But don't worry, we'll keep you posted. Besides, you'll probably be able to see it with the naked eye in a few days!
But that's enough out of me. Talk among yourselves, Starfallen! I'd love to know what you think of all this. -𝒜
P.S.: Altitude 06, azimuth 281 for all you aspiring Starseers out there!
[ooc: This will be a catchall for the Starfallen to discuss this new turn of events. Characters can make top-level comments and continue from there; Aurora will, of course, have one of her own.]

Of course, I'll be here if you need me! -𝒜

I hope you're not thinking of going there all by yourself! We have no clue what would be waiting for you out there!

Thanks for all your hard work! Let us know if you want help with anything! Hey, would it be possible for someone to maybe take a book and hop onto the other land mass? Just in case it passes by!
no subject
It would be possible, yes, but if it's only passing us by then you'd run the risk of becoming trapped there! You'd be like that young wolf-man Larus outside of town!
Come to think of it, perhaps I should ask him if he has any ideas...

Is that even a feasible idea?
no subject
It's not only feasible, it's fabulous! However, there are two small problems to consider:
First, we need to make sure this landmass actually comes to rest when it arrives; otherwise it may be like trying to pave a brick walkway out to a moving carriage.
Second, depending on how soon and how [...] gently it comes to rest once it becomes close, we may not even need a bridge; it may be as simple as stepping straight from one side to the other!
We'll hopefully have a more precise estimate once it gets a little bit closer. But this much is certain: if it would be safe for us to send you there, we'd love to have you Starfallen investigate it for us!
no subject
Or do we need more magic in order to do that?
no subject
Oh, no, the pleasure is all mine! Some would live their whole lives only ever dreaming of being able to speak to people who can say they're from other worlds!
Unfortunately, we don't yet have an answer to that. We're hoping that something is actively drawing these two pieces of the world together, and that they'll stay together once they've met.
If we're forced to find our own way to do it, then... have you heard the old saying about the difficulty of moving mountains? I can only imagine what it would be like to stop one in motion!
no subject
But finding a piece of missing landmass must be exciting in helping to bring everything together.
I can't offer much, except healing and tea, but you're welcome to it if you think it will help.

I want to know what you guys have been doing since we got here. Maybe we can dig up some clues, figure out if we're doing what we're supposed to be doing as Starfallens or whatever?

I was also part of the group that discovered the featherraptor colony outside of Concord, the ones who had been breaking into places and stealing things. We alerted the city leadership, but I don't know if they've formulated an official response or plan yet.
Beyond those things I'm not clear what else would be important, or how they'd relate to this new landmass showing up.
no subject
Or maybe they're desperate.
Hey, but thanks for writing back. Maybe it really is just helping the townspeople... I feel like anybody could do that, though! What makes us so special??

Ideas...? Huh. I guess we've been wondering so much what we can do.
Also, I know you as 'weird green girl'... I don't think I caught the name.

I don't think it's related to the new landmass, but from the classes I've been a part of, magic is treated with a lot more mysticism than it is back home, especially when it comes to Astrology. The fact that we fell from the sky seems to be important, so it might be that just our presence that's doing something?
no subject
I should check out the magic classes, even if the idea of school rubs me the wrong way. I guess I'm not much of a magical guy, but they seemed to want anyone and everyone...

I'm not sure what we need to do. Go out to the edge of the world and find an important item?

What is the Steward stuff about, anyway? Seemed like a bunch of butlers...

But... given what the Seekers have told me about how things used to be, maybe that's enough? The gods were brought together by mutual affection and stripped apart, somehow... Maybe we're bringing them back together?
I don't know, really...

Correct! Azimuth 281. West, and just a little bit to the North.

Oh.
