1st Mantra - Honesty to Oneself and Others

Greetings, everyone. I am Cecil Mortimer Winterscales V of unit B. Please, just call me Cecil.

I confess part of the reason I'm writing to you all is to test the Liber Nuntiorum's capabilities myself, but I wish to posit a theory on the goings-on of this world. In my world, my companions and I learned of a cataclysmic scheme put together by the prince of demons, Demogorgon. This demon god has two heads and both hate the other. So strongly, we learned, that he sought to destroy his other half through powerful Shadow Pearls that could very well end existence as we know it.

I do not know if this scheme has reached so far as to effect others, but on my arrival, this was one of my first thoughts. I do not fully understand the destructive capabilities of the Shadow Pearls, but do not deny the possibility that they could distort and fragment a world like this in high enough concentration. I'm afraid I don't know how far along his plan is, but if this is an isolated incident, I will take solace in the existence of worlds beyond Demogorgon's reach.

And for the rest...I admit is more of a personal inquiry than anything else. To determine what commonalities, if any, lead to our arrival here. Any close brushes with death, perhaps. Especially before descending from the stars.

Approaching? From what everyone around here says it already happened and we're just living on one of the pieces

I may be able to stop a world from getting destroyed but I have no clue how to put one back together again

Right now, probably not. Too many unknowns and likely not enough consistency between this world and others. If we are meant to help repair it, then we will steadily learn how. Opportunity will play its hand before long.

And yes, I stand by my earlier use of the word "approaching". This world is fragmented and broken, sure, but not destroyed. There is still hope to rebuild and reform and we Starfallen have been entrusted with it.

I guess you're right, if it still works then it's not destroyed yet

but it'd be nice if everyone here wasn't just as blind as we are. What do they think we know that they don't?

Perhaps it not what we know that they're after. Granted, there was an inquiry on our worlds that may lead them to answers, but it does not seem like the main goal. Perhaps it is what we can do. Rather, what they believe we can do.

Their reactions to us convince me our arrival was unexpected. No rituals, no summoning. Just unknown individuals falling from the sky. Perhaps divine intervention, if they're inclined towards faith. To them, we are miracles waiting to take effect.

That's a lot of faith to put in a stranger that came in from nowhere

then again if people started falling from the sky out of nowhere I probably would think something's up too

Especially when that happens after your world is literally torn apart. I imagine desperation is a factor.

That's the weird thing

I'm probably alone in this but my world looked a bit like this

A bunch of floating islands

And before you ask we were pretty much fine with it

Did your home sit in the middle of space as this world does or did your floating islands actually float over a world?

It was over a world

You couldn't see past the clouds, but the rest of the world what was left of the old world was down there.

Not that most people could ever find a way down

I see. Then either that was part of your fragment or your world was whole. Either way, it provides you a unique perspective to all of this, one that may be needed in the times ahead. My own perspective is precisely why I've put out this message, after all.

I imagine your own scenario brought a sense of isolation. The locals of Concord feel that way, it seems.

We had flying machines going back and forth wherever you went. I actually lived on a flying machine like that too

The land was divided but the people were always able to stay connected because of stuff like that. Get it?

I see. With flying machines, the various lands remained connected. I wonder if such things could be constructed here...or perhaps teleportation circles. This world seems quite familiar with magic already.

However, that would require getting to those new landmasses at all to create a waypoint...

And none of them have even come close enough to see yet

If they're even out there at all

At least this place isn't too bad, can you imagine if you got stuck on a piece of land only a few dozen feet wide or something?

Or if we missed the ground when we fell in

Can that happen? Does anyone know?

I don't believe so. Everyone landed well near the middle of the landmass, so if anyone fell off, it was of their own volition. As to whether anyone's taken the plunge, I'm not sure. The forces at play brought us here, so I'm inclined to believe they wouldn't let anyone drift off into the starry expanse.

We could test that.

Are you saying we should have someone jump off just to see what happens

I was thinking of something more like a rock. Small, easily marked, not much of a loss if it disappears into the void.

But it seems like it'd be easy to miss

And someone might take it upside the head when it falls back in

We have the Astronomical Center to help locate it. As for where it lands...

I fear there's little we can do about that. We did land around the same area, so there may be a designated zone for the landings.
