To The Surface - Mystery closed?

Greetings once again to our dear Starfallen!

Last month had many of you facing heavy personal trials and I can only commend your efforts to overcome yourselves. There is strength in the ability to look into yourself in all of your intricacies, even ones you're not proud of, and accept it. I doubt anyone took that old superstition seriously before all of those reflections came along, but with the lake's location confirmed, I have to wonder how many other myths have such truth to them!

I apologize if this comes off as insensitive; I didn't expect such a discovery to be made, let alone so close by.

That's the other reason why I wished to get this report out to you: the lake is still there. There's far less activity now than last month, but we can't discount the possibility of new or returning reflections coming up from the depths. Our analysis of the lake hasn't yielded much; test results confirmed the lake water itself is normal water. No enchantments, no unique compounds, just plain water. I suppose this mystery is only partially solved for now, but I'll let you know if any developments come up.

For now, please assume the lake still has its power. I'm unsure if your own reflections can return, but it will be important for any new Starfallen to learn about.

I know a sure answer would be impossible given the time and all, but could the high numbers of reflections be due to a bottled up effect of sorts? Given that the lake was only discovered right before their sightings, I was wondering if it could be something that was holding back until it was noticed.

Either way, as mysterious as it is, it's indeed comforting to think that we may have passed the worst of it. Out of curiosity, is this somewhat usual? I mean discovering, or re-discovering if we are to believe that the superstition was based on facts, a new element within the world and it having unexpected consequences. As opposing to new shards appearing as those would be naturally unexplored and new. At least I was under the impression that the lake was found within the forest and not related to a shard.
