LAR01: Far and Wide

[Over the course of a few minutes, seemingly by way of brush, an image is drawn onto a page in the Liber Nuntiorum.]



[A short while later, a new individual's handwriting graces the book's pages.]

I've drawn map of Concord. Mind, the pictures of the landmarks aren't really to scale, but they're in the right locations.

[Another little pause.]

I'm Larus Moon-In-Water, the guy from the Outlands who lives in a tent outside the gates of the South Quarter. I'm sorry I wasn't available for everyone's questions over the last few days, but I was busy making sure I had all of the details right.

[Beat.]

If you do have any questions about what you all call 'Outlanders' I can answer them now if you'd like.

Oh, thank you! This will be really useful. I can move this up to the front of the book so everyone has easy access! -A

Yep! Walking, talking (very loudly), and I even saw him eat once. I have no idea how any of it works.

On the other hand, I don't know how my own body works, either.

The latter's of greater concern. It may do you well to get in touch with your own body's workings, let alone its needs.

Though now I, too, am wondering how a [...] skeleton eats.

It'd be nice if I could, but it's not like there's a lot of fluffy goats to compare myself to! But if you want to help with my needs, I'm happy to have you over.

I have no idea how he eats, though. It just vanishes when it goes down his 'throat'.

Well, our door's always open if you want to come for a visit regardless! It's a bit rambunctious, but my roommates are good people, I think.

Oh, actually, I think we're hosting a party. I'd have to check to be sure -- it's for starfallen -- but I'm sure you'd be welcome if I brought you along. You could see how few humans there really are among us.

Let me make sure it's alright, though!

It would be nice to be able to spend some time around some other nonhumans again. I would feel a little less homesick, for one.

Out of curiosity, who are your roommates? Are they also [...] goats?

Nope! They're all kobolds -- varyingly fuzzy little dragon things! The shortest one is like, two feet tall, and the tallest one is around three and a half, I think?

They're all very, um, affectionate and communal. It took some getting used to, but they're nice roommates and good people.

There's a pause in writing before Ralsei asks,

Oh! Before I forget, do you have have any favorites as cakes or other pastries go?

I'm... honestly not sure if you're referring to Pacca or Rakka at that last bit.

Ralsei's hand drags down his face, leaving a slight streak of ink. It really shouldn't surprise him that word of his roommates got around like that.

After a brief pause, he continues,

Oh, Pacca said it was alright to bring you along, by the way. Looking forward to seeing you, if you decide to come! If anyone gives you weird looks, let me know who and I'll give them a talking to.

It's been a while since I've been to a party, but
