Good morning! I am G'raha Tia, a fellow Starfallen.

I've begun experiments involving magic in this 'Expanse' alongside Velo and have come across a number of interesting observations that I would dearly like to expand upon. I've only just started my studies in the Mage's Tower as a new Scholar, you see, which limits me to a degree until I make further breakthroughs under the Guild's tutelage.

Nevertheless, I wish to test the effects of as many types of magic as possible within the realm as well as these odd structures that lay scattered within the Expanse. My Vis has given a number of results, but what of holy magic? Potions consumed that bear a magical nature?

I'd also heard that some of you have received access to abilities you had back in your home worlds. If it's no trouble, I'd like to see how that factors into my studies as well, so I know the effects of "foreign magic" as well as local.

Rest assured you will be compensated. I am also something of a Culinarian, so you needn't worry about food or drink during the excursion as well.

I'd looked into the potion incident and found mixed reception. I figured I'd ask, in case someone wishes to be taller for a while or something I won't describe in polite company.

Though I have to ask- Where might you be from? I am unfamiliar with worlds that aren't rife with magic and am curious as to how the people within them compensate for lack of aether.

That's alright. It does seem that worlds that lack in aether tend to be more technologically advanced. We're creatures that rely on tools to better our lives, and if we can't conjure a means to quickly move from place to place through teleportation, why not build a machine that can ferry you wherever you need?

That ferrying thing was a real necessity for us too, we lived on a bunch of islands in the sky

And since I came here I'm starting to learn that that's actually really strange to most people

So I don't know if my world's a good example

Islands in the sky? Interesting. Does your world bear a hazardous underneath, stressing life on the floating islands?

I'd imagine if you could live on the surface, you would otherwise.

Got it in one. There's almost nothing left down there, and what IS left is being scoured clean.

Let's just say that the people came before all of us made some big mistakes.

We've already put two of the pieces together, just gotta wait for more

At least I think it was us. The Astronomical Society seems to think it was.

Of course, having a second pair of eyes to help work out if the effects are true or a trick meant for me is invaluable as well.

Hey, G'raha. I don't have any magic, but I have a gun that uses planet energy to shoot lasers. I can't explain it well, but you're welcome to have a look. Also my rings are probably magical, but I haven't figured out if or how. So you're welcome to test on me if you want.

Please, if you're volunteering your magical items, I can keep it to trying them in the Expanse, but I won't stand for living subject testing!

I'm suffused with hella ley magic, G'raha. It's all up in me. So you should get all up in me too. It won't kill me and if it helps with knowing more about magic, then I can put up with a little discomfort. It's not like it'd be any worse than what the Bureau would do to me back home.

I spend most days in the Mage Tower, at any rate. Their instruments are of great help, and can surely help you find some answers.

I can brew a good tea, I believe. I've had no complaints, at any rate. As for creating my own tea blends, I can't say I've given it any thought. I just take the leaves and drink the water.

Oh, there's a whole world of teas out there, depending on if you're going for taste or a specific effect, like relaxation. I've been told I have a bit of a knack for it.

Wonderful! I'm fond of any tea, but wonder if I should enjoy particular types at particular times, for instance. I'd also like to learn how to brew better cups overall.

I have absolutely no problem in giving tips. There isn't any particular rule about what you should enjoy at what times.

However, it's usually not a good idea to drink something that will give you energy when you're attempting to sleep in an hour. Some teas are better when you're unwell.

Ah, naturally. I stick with herbal teas in the evening to mellow a troubled mind, but I admit I miss the taste of a smooth black tea to cure the midday ails.

A black tea? I think they might have that here. One thing I've been trying to do is test all the teas here. I think some of them are the same as where I'm from, they just call it something different.

Some of it is completely different. But I think testing around enough will find something that will work best with you.
