The Starfallen Report
Hello, everyone! This is Corrin of Nohr writing, and I hope we're all doing well this evening. I think we've all had time to process the Concord "Truthogram" and what it had to say about us. If you didn't see, I proposed we put out a paper of our own, not to attack the Truthogram, but to rather present ourselves to the people of Concord in our own words, to dispel any doubts they might have about us or our intent to help mend the world. The Astrologian's Guild has generously offered to commission a printing press for our use in this endeavour, and I'll be speaking to the Stewards at the Guild of Steel and Lace regarding options we might have for leasing a space to produce our own paper to get the ball rolling on that.
In the meantime, what I'm writing here to do is ask for a series of sit-down interviews with as many of you as I can get. The topics will be you, who you are, where you come from, what shaped you into the person you are, and how you want to help the people of Concord. I'd also like to discuss any progress that's been done in healing the world, and other good deeds that have been done in and around Concord for the people. They need to hear about us, from us, in our own words, and not from the Truthogram, which is clearly more interested in using us for their own gain. My goal is to build as much trust between us and the people here as we can, so they know they can rely and depend on us Starfallen.
To star, I'm hoping the people who were specifically targeted in the latest edition of the Truthogram would be willing to talk, since I think it's important we start by refuting any misgivings the issue might have given. That would mean, off the top of my head, Ralsei, Cecil, Pacca, and Rakka, and Velofnir right off the bat. I know Jeanne was also part of the, um, "Communist Subversives" story because of her realm of origin, but if there's anyone else involved in that story I can't place, I'd like to speak to you as well, if I can. Finally, the "Candy Man" story...Jason do you think it was referring to you? You had that glowing drink you showed the rest of us when we all sat down together in Unit D, so I think you might be the most likely candidate for that. Would you be willing to sit down for a chat?
But I'd also like to hear from anyone else who might be interested; we can spread your interviews and testimonials out over a couple of issues so we don't overload the people of Concord with too much information right off the bat. And for anyone who submitted a getting to know you report to the Astrologian's Guild, if you'd be willing to sign off on releasing those reports I'd like to add them to the paper as well, to give people a better understanding of some of our homes. But only if you're comfortable doing so! It's not essential and I won't pressure anyone to do anything they're not comfortable with.
What do you all say? This is about all of us coming together, not letting ourselves be divided for something as trivial as profit. Who's willing to sign on for an interview?

Consider me signed up for an interview!

Also you seem pretty nice!

Obviously, I'm good for an interview whenever you ave time, just say the word.
no subject
Will do, Velo. Thanks.

I'm also going to need someone to interview me, too. I can't very well do it myself. Think you might be interested in that, partner?
no subject
[Plus Velo still wants to be petty. Nothing says fuck you like poaching staff.]
I'll have a talk with the Academy, as well. I'm sure there are empty labs and classrooms to use. If nothing else, there's got to be ink and paper aplenty there.

I just wanna set the record straight!

Yes, of course, naturally. You have my word.

On the contrary, I welcome the opportunity to inform others of the truth. Give me a time and a place and I will answer all of your questions truthfully.

If we really want to impress people we should get some kinda big job under our belts first, right?
no subject
But don't you think you're getting out of this entirely! Once you do something suitably heroic, I want to hear all about it! Even if I'm right there next to you when it happens, haha.
no subject
And I'd expect the same from you too
Hopefully you're not thinking of giving up on your sword skills to do this
How's the Steward life so far, by the way?
no subject
It's going well! This domestic stuff is more difficult than I'd have thought, but I'm learning a lot. And the combat training is surprisingly in-depth too, so I'm getting a good education. Plus one of the more advanced training courses is all about battlefield command and the art of leadership. I think that's something I could find useful. But that's a bit further down the line for now.
Right now, I'm just pleased that I managed to do a complete load of laundry without getting my colours to run today! My folding still needs a little work though, but I'm focusing on the positives here. I did laundry, Red!
[This is actually very exciting for her, she's never understood how clothes go from being dirty and wrinkled to clean and pressed again. Until today, that is.]
no subject
[Wow. This might be the most excited he's ever seen anyone get over doing their own laundry. But hey, whatever makes her happy, right?]
If it makes you that excited I could give you mine too
Are you looking forward to learning how to cook?
no subject
Well...I could always give you lessons, if you like! Just give me a little time to get my folding down pat.
Oh yeah, so much. We've already done a little baking and you should see the kitchens at the Glistering Estate. Honestly, I thought Castle Krakenburg's were extensive but...it's got nothing on the Stewards.
And I can always use a taste-tester to make sure my work is coming along, if you'd like.
[Corrin won't wash your underwear for you Red, but she will feed you.]
no subject
Don't need lessons. I did my own laundry all the time back home.
Drying it's gonna be a lot slower now that I can't string it up on a flying airship though
[
Yup. That's actually canon.]Count on me to try your cooking though. THAT'S something I know a little about too, my kid sister and I traded off
Are they training you on cooking something really fancy and special?
no subject
[Corrin is all about family stories.]
Eventually yeah, the goal is to have us prepare real haute cuisine, if you'll pardon my Nestran. I'm...nervous! A bit! About working up to making food that fancy, but they are taking time to work us up to that first.
Baking's been moderately successful so far, though.
[At least, Samus seems to have enjoyed the thank-you cookies Corrin gave her.]
no subject
Probably won't make you hear them while you're trying my omelettes though
[Nestran? Weird. That sounded perfectly ordinary to him.]
Ive never made food that fancy either, what are they building up to?
no subject
Honestly? The kind of food people like me are supposed eat on a regular basis!
[Not to be classist much, but it's the best way to describe the cooking curriculum as she understands it].
Though, I don't know if I'll stick with it all the way though. The combat and command training is going to ramp up before too long and there's only so many hours in the day, right? I'll settle for being a passable cook and not a gourmet chef if I have to. But you never know! We'll see, won't we?
no subject
Maybe
But is there anyone here who's met someone else from their home?
Among the starfallen I mean, obviously the locals have
You should ace the combat and command training anyway, you're a princess right? and I've seen you fight, I wonder what they'd even teach you
no subject
[She's been thinking a lot about that; if one of her Nohrian siblings shows up, she'll need to keep the mask on even more. Can't let the truth about King Garon slip without irrefutable evidence to back up her claims, and that proof can only be obtained in the throne room of Castle Shirasagi. And if one of her Hoshidan siblings showed up...? Well, that's a whole other can of worms she can't afford to think about right now. But nothing can be dismissed out of hand, not yet.]
A princess of Nohr, sure. But Nohr's a long way away and here I'm just another Starfallen. I can't fall back on the royal title to get people to follow me into battle here, y'know? I have to know how to lead on my own merits, not because of my birth or titles. That's something I don't quite have as much experience with. So! I'm pretty sure I'll still get a lot out of it. And I can always use the battle-planning training! I'm not not bad with tactics, but long-term strategy is something I've always felt more comfortable leaning on my younger brother Leo for. It's a weakness I should learn to correct.
no subject
The fact that you're doing something like this whole paper thing shows that you're good with initiative and making plans that involve a lot of people, right?
That's a start, and it shows you're already good at working with other people
Even having those kinds of weaknesses just means that it makes you better at working with other people and makes sure you learn how to get along with them and value them
Trust me on that
no subject
...Thanks, Red. I appreciate it. Anyone ever told you you're a good guy?
no subject
A LOT of people actually
But thanks, it means a lot coming from a friend
Good luck with the paper!

Well, sure, if you want to ask me questions like that so people can understand, I'd be more than happy, Miss Corrin.
