Plan 01: Bootlegs and Houses
[On the afternoon of the 1st]
This is Velo. Before everyone gets going to explore that new landmass, I've got a few things to take care of here, and I could use some input.
First, I feel I should apologize for the incident with the potions last month. I never intended them to be sold like that, but it's too late for intentions now. That said, it looks like someone is trying to recreate that last version and sell it. As much as I'd like to personally put a stop to their operation with fire, that isn't an option. However, I have an idea that might work instead:
Instead of actual fire, I'll fight it with metaphorical fire. I've altered the formula a bit so that the user has a little more control over what happens, and I've managed to bring down the cost of producing them. So, I'll be selling my own version and undercutting the competition, especially for other Starfallen. These things are still mostly unpredictable, but they still work like a normal healing potion. In the right hands, that unpredictability could turn the tide of a losing fight, especially against those scheming sorts that like to gloat about how they know your every move and whatnot. I know this from experience, given how my magic normally worked back home. If you want, I can also make a version that doesn't heal in a throw case, so you can chuck it at something and roll the dice that way.
Secondly, I've got an offer for any Scholar that's looking for a better place than the cramped housing units we've been given. I've gotten clearance to get a 2-bedroom apartment up in the Mage Tower. I've got the budget now to almost cover it myself, but if I can get someone else to sign with me I'll be more than good, even if I'm paying most of the rent myself. The only requirement they gave me is that whoever signs has to be practicing as a Scholar or any of the disciplines related to that. I won't be signing until after we get back, but I'm putting the offer out there now.
